It was a huge headache to find this thread, a couple hours of troubleshooting. I tried all the tricks, deleting Saves, Settings, ControlMap.dat, -windowed, allocating memory, nothing worked but this.

starting New Game" on my backed up Steam Install of EFLC from before the changeover to "The Complete Edition". I was getting "The downloadable content required for this autoload is not available" then "Load failed. I can confirm this will fix EFLC save loading screen crash with no sound. If you uninstall from Steam you will need to re-add the registry entries to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\rockstar games\EFLC (or update to new game location) to run the backup through LaunchEFLC.exe. Any fix? (Even with the backups there is unlikely to be any online community though.) Game loads intro but then crashes before main menu. However I uninstalled EFLC in Steam and then tried to run the backup through the EFLC launcher. The backup of GTAIV starts from the launcher and GWFL still works.
Originally posted by GTG:I backed up both GTAIV and EFLC. I have probably also downgraded my game to a version that supports Simple Native Trainer, because it's so fun to play with that, and maybe this is the easier solution, but I always use xlive.dll to disable that Games for Windows Live annoying bugged thing.īut now, the solution is to wait for Rockstar to fix everything related to GTA IV/EFLC and Games for Windows Live, and the savegames problem will also disappear. But this was a long time ago and I don't exactly remember everything :)) But I managed to fix the problem at that time, probably it was related to a bugged version of GTA IV, and if you used xlive.dll, you didn't encounter that bug.
I think that I have fixed it at that time by disabling everything related to Games for Windows Live, you need to put in the game folder xlive.dll and something that I can't remeber, and then the savegames folder will be moved from User => AppData => bla bla bla to Documents => Rockstar Games => GTA IV => Profiles. Did you fix it somehow? Im gettting desperate here.
#Gta 4 loading screen crash how to
Does anyone know how to help me? I have just finished GTA IV and TLaD on my new PC and I just want to finish TBoGT too. And I can't find any fix on the whole internet. And it also crashes when I pop-up my in-game phone after I complete at least one mission. Until I make a new savegame, and then my game will crash again while loading that savegame.
